This election is for moving traffic citations not requiring mandatory court appearance (i.e. speeding in excess of 30 MPH, crash resulting in injury, etc.).  

You may not elect to attend driver improvement school for any violation if you hold a commercial drivers license (CDL).  

You have 30 days to elect a driver improvement course and 60 days from date of election to complete it.  This election can be made online or in person at our Customer Service Center when payment of the citation is made (prior to attending school). The Traffic School Affidavit can be found on our website in the Forms.

It is the defendant's responsibility to file the certificate of completion with the Clerk's Office. This can be done in person, by email, or by mail. 

Failure to complete the course and file the certificate of completion with the Clerk's Office within 60 days will result in your license being suspended, having to re-pay the reduction in the fine received with the election, an additional fee for failing to attend/complete the course within the required time, a suspension fee, and you will receive the points and lose the election.
