This depends on how the deed is written. If you and your deceased spouse are listed on the deed as husband and wife, then you would need to record the deed in our Customer Service department and the Property Appraiser's Office will pick it up and remove your deceased spouse's name from the property. If you are not listed on the deed or you and your deceased spouse are not listed as husband and wife, then the property would have to go through Probate. Please note, that recording fees and/or filing fees apply.
What documents do I need to submit to the county to transfer a property owned by my deceased spouse to my name, as I am the beneficiary of her assets via her last will and testament?
