What is a motion for contempt? And how do I file? Is there a fee?

A motion for contempt is filed when one of the parties to a case is not abiding by or following a court order or judgment.  The purpose of the motion is to ask for a hearing.

You may obtain the Motion for Civil Contempt/Enforcement from our customer service department or online at https://www.flcourts.gov/Resources-Services/Office-of-Family-Courts/Family-Court-in-Florida/Family-Law-Forms.

Completed motion can be filed in our customer service department or via the E-Portal at https://www.myflcourtaccess.com/authority.

A reopen fee is NOT assessed on a motion for contempt.
